This summer, I participated in an environmental research project with Earthwatch on the Amazon River in Peru. An amazing trip of a lifetime, where we saw a multitude of birds and wildlife. In particular, we caught and weighed, measured, and released baby caiman as part of the effort to monitor the impact of global warming on the rain forest.
These lizard and alligator pens were inspired by that adventure. Refillable slimline pens covered with polymer clay. A variety of techniques were used to capture the colours including alcohol inks and Inka Gold.
